1) I'd probably say the Caro series was my favourite this year.
2) I almost always haven't seen recent films yet by the time you post about them, so often I skip to avoid spoils and then forget about them. But that's just me and I see no obvious fix anyway. Unless maybe listing those types of posts one may have missed annually or so?
I only wish you would have written more, which means you're doing it right. A shame that you speak of the Caro series as being in the past tense, as I was hoping you might squeeze more riveting posts out of those wonderful books.
An entertaining pendant to your Caro coverage was the unexpectedly hilarious McConaughey biography. Would never have given a celebrity bio another glance otherwise.
Also loved your link to Grazie Sophia Christie's article on beauty. Eye-opening. Only wish there were more comments and especially from women. In the same vein I discovered your podcast with Diana Flesichman, which I enjoyed a lot.
Very kind post. I wrote one more LBJ post but it was relating it to a real life takeover - it was censored due to professional considerations. I have bits of Caro floating around but the truth is I read it quicker than I could write about it. And harder to write once the moment's passed. I may reread. Diana is great. I think my female readership increased after Mary Gaitskill's recommendation, which is neat.
Nice summary. Look forward to your treatment of these topics — and to your takes on scripture too — in 2024.

Not all of them are on new films or films you are likely to see :)
