I often come out of books that focus on a big thing not really remembering much because there are too many details. This post is the opposite: tight, focussed, and something I'll remember.
Well done! In addition to the largest man made lake, Gatun Dam was the larest in the world, too. Lots of superlatives when discussing facts about the canal.
My childhood home; and on Google Maps I can still find a building I helped build in what was Ft Clayton, not far from Miraflores Locks.
