life update. daughter 1 is happy and healthy 18 mo and the highlight of every day. son 1 joined us this week. while we were at the hospital, I'm told she walked around the house shouting "daddy daddy daddy" all day.
Great piece. I too had a son first and a daughter second. The differences and beauties they bring are quite remarkable. My wife is also Mexican and her family’s enormity and pull are immense. I would not trade it for anything, but it is definitely worth noting.
sometime back we had two decorators come to our house. on hearing of our growing family, one said a boy and a girl is a blessing. "he [the other decorator] is lucky. he has a son and a daughter. i only have two sons. i don't have anyone for me."
Although interestingly, the commentators do suggest Jacob is punishing for staying away from his parents for so long. That distance represents a failure to honour them
