Great piece. I too had a son first and a daughter second. The differences and beauties they bring are quite remarkable. My wife is also Mexican and her family’s enormity and pull are immense. I would not trade it for anything, but it is definitely worth noting.

Although interestingly, the commentators do suggest Jacob is punishing for staying away from his parents for so long. That distance represents a failure to honour them
