I just listened to it and found it quite enjoyable. Definitely worth listening to. McConaughey reminded me of one my best friends (who was actually Norwegian) a masculine fun loving crazy man. Although my friend was quite intelligent he never found his place in society and ended his days ODing on Fentanyl a few years ago.
Matthew McConaughey leans left. Therefore I'm not going to support/fund him. But it does sound like a good book. Perhaps I will see it in a yard sale one day. Or a cheap thrift store or at the Dollar Tree store for $1.25. Only in one of those conditions will I buy the book. Then, enjoy it.
"And maybe my favourite bit, true as the sun is bright, McConaughey on daughters: 'The only honeymoon that lasts forever.'"
Any suggestions for how wives can avoid this? Cause it is just an incredibly bleak statement that you say is absolutely true.
I think that's an astute observation and it is a bleak reality.
I'd augment this with my views on marriage which I elaborate on here:

I will definitely have to read this autobiography.

Thanks for the great review.
But it doesn't work for most of them. Read Stefan Zweig's The World of Yesterday and you'll realize the Central Powers should have won the Great War.
